ADVANCE pilots achieved several international and national top performances in the various categories of the XContest. Sincere congratulations to all! We are proud of you.
Once more Manuele Dondi from Italy stands on the highest pedestal of the World XContest. This year he won the sport class with the new SIGMA 11. His brother Stefano Dondi holds first place in the World XContest standard class with an IOTA 2 and a XI. Local Berner Oberland matador Chris Vuille came second after Stefano Dondi, similarly with a XI. In terms of notable equipment, the cross-country pairing of SIGMA 11 and IMPRESS 4 stands out at national level, and also has established itself at the highest level. Details of the national results of ADVANCE pilots can be found below. There are also numerous podium places in the different classes.

Our Italian pilots' excellent results in the World XContest also appear at the top of their national XContest. Especially worth mentioning: Stefano gained his podium place just with flat triangles, which score less than FAI triangles. Finally, Andrea Testa added to the magnificent Italian team performance by taking third place in the Sport class, filling the podium with ADVANCE gliders.

"My personal goal for 2021 was my first 200 km flight. In the end analysis there were four big FAI and flat triangles over 200km - all with the EN-B ADVANCE XI." That was Chris Vuille’s brief report of his achievements. With these flights he takes third place in the Fun & Safety class of the National XContest Switzerland and thus the second podium place in a row. Incidentally, on his XContest page Chris comments on many of his flights with lots of humour and pictures.

In the midst of the X-Alps frenzy Marcelo Sanchez' new Spanish Sport Class record almost got lost. His equipment? The perfect SIGMA 11 and IMPRESS 4 combination, of course! At least you should now remember the name Marcelo Sanchez. This rising cross-country star now belongs to the top league of sport class pilots. With his record flight of 287 km free distance, the Spaniard also secures first place in the sport class of the Andalucia XC Liga 2021, regarded as the national ranking for the southern part of Spain.

A very good flying season in Norway comes to an end. All the better that Norway has also joined the National XContest this year. As always, our strong ADVANCE pilots are right at the front and showing impressive flights in the far north. We are particularly pleased for Dagfinn Graneng, who would have taken part in the X-Alps if it hadn't have been for Corona...
