The ADVANCE service centres in Thun (Switzerland) and Oderen (EU / France) will give you a 10% discount off the price of a glider inspection from the 1st of December 2025 until the end of February 2026.
Harness inspection
Like paragliders, harnesses are also subject to a re-inspection cycle. During an inspection, all safety-related components such as straps, buckles, carabiners, protectors, etc. are subjected to a visual inspection. The overall condition of the harness is then assessed and documented in a report. ADVANCE operates two of its own service centers in Thun (CH) and Oderen (EU). You can also contact one of our authorized service partner.
Pricelist workshop Switzerland / France
The current waiting times for inspections are around 1 week in Thun (CH) and 3 weeks in Oderen (EU). However, you can pre-book an inspection slot by email or telephone and send in your harness just a few days beforehand. In any case, please enclose a completed inspection form.
The following work will be performed by the ADVANCE Service Center during a periodic inspection:
Visual inspection of load-bearing parts
All load-bearing straps, adjustment buckles, fasteners and carabiners are visually inspected for damage, tears, chafing, defective seams, existing repairs and proper functioning.
Visual inspection of protectors and additional parts
All removable components and additional parts such as seat boards, protector elements and foam elements are removed and visually inspected for damage and proper functioning.
Visual inspection of non-load-bearing parts
In addition, all non-load-bearing straps, adjusters and zips are visually inspected for damage and proper functioning. The outer shell and any leg loops are also visually inspected and the settings are checked for symmetry.
Visual inspection of the acceleration system
An incorrectly routed accelerator cord can potentially prevent the reserve parachute from deploying. For this reason, the acceleration system is also thoroughly inspected and worn parts such as the retractor and cord are replaced.
Visual inspection of the reserve parachute system
During this step, the reserve parachute suspension, the reserve parachute connection, the zips of the connection channel, as well as the split pins and handle are checked for correct configuration, damage, etc.
Creating the inspection report
All inspections and work carried out are documented in detail in an inspection report, and the overall condition of the harness is assessed and recorded.
We offer the following services as part of a periodic inspection:
Re-folding
As all components, including the reserve parachute, are removed during a harness inspection, it makes sense to also carry out a periodic re-folding including pack inspection of the reserve parachute at the same time.
Full visual inspection COMPANION SQR
Reserve parachutes must also undergo periodic inspections (see regulations for Companion devices here: ). COMPANION SQR reserve parachutes must undergo a full visual inspection after 4 and 8 years of service. All components are checked thoroughly and the fabric is examined against the light or on a light table.
