Nicola is one of the up-and-coming stars of the scene. As a member of the X-Alps Academy he has already participated in many races, flies with the best of the scene and regularly stands on the podia of Hike&Fly competitions. He proves that he is not just a flying talent, but a physically conditioned fitness machine at various ski touring races - often in combination with flying.

Do you remember your first flight? How was it?
Yes, the feeling the first time your feet leave the ground and you glide into the valley is indescribable.
What moments make flying worthwhile?
A lot of different moments. Being able to glide from the summit to the valley after a long mountain tour, the evening flight into the sunset or the hike & fly competition itself.
Your three top flying areas?
The Stockhorn – my “local hill”, the Berner Oberland and Wallis.
What are you doing on a day that is not flyable?
If I can’t fly, I am mountain climbing or trail running.
Why do you fly for ADVANCE?
I am more than impressed by the equipment, always top! And I like the fact that ADVANCE is local, and the team is super sympatico.
What is your favourite food?
Pizza

Home is where the mountains are.

Shared Joy on the Mountain
Six friends, Sepp Inniger, Hanes Kämpf, Nicola Heiniger, Andrina Frutiger, Jil Schmid and Joel Sigenthaler climbed the 4,158 m high Jungfrau. In their packs were two light tandems and two solo wings. Will the wind at the summit allow them to take off?
